Kristin@E!Online is reporting that Zachary Quinto’s chances of being cast as Spock in the upcoming Star Trek film are looking extremely good. The deal is about to close. One of Kristin’s associates checked with a source who confirms that the Zachary Quinto-as-Spock contract is with the business affairs team at Paramount. Business affairs is generally considered the last stop on the deal-negotiation train. The deal only awaits sign-off from outside counsel.
Adrien Brody was originally rumored to be up for the role of the Vulcan science officier. This all comes on the heels of Matt Damon denying his involvement as Captain Kirk. Damon said he went as far as to contact JJ Abrams to ask him about it and Abrams allegedy told him it was untrue and that Damon wouldn’t fit as Kirk in his vision of this Star Trek movie.
