Mike Vogel Lands Kirk Role In Star Trek 11

IESB is reporting that Mike Vogel (Poseidon) is the front runner to play James T. Kirk in the 11th Star Trek film. Mike Vogel will be seen in, coincidentally, in the JJ Abrams produced Untitled Monster Project AKA Cloverfield/1-18-08.
Casting for the 11th Star Trek film includes Zachary Quinto as young Mr. Spock, Leonard Nimoy reprising the role that he made famous as the older Mr. Spock, Zoe Saldana as Uhura originally played by Nichelle Nichols and Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov originally played by Walter Koenig.
And more recently, Stargate Atlantis regular Paul McGillion has auditioned for the role of Scotty, made famous by James Doohan.
